The Invisalign Process

Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable, and virtually-invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth.

Wearing Invisalign aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements Dr. Insoft and Dr. Hurst plan out for you.

There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners every one to two weeks until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life.

The best part about the whole process is nobody has to know you’re straightening your teeth! We offer Invisalign for teens and Invisalign for adults.

How do I know if Invisalign aligners are right for me?

At Insoft & Hurst Orthodontics, most malocclusions that are treated with braces can be treated with Invisalign as well. From mild cases of crooked teeth to much more advanced dental issues involving serious malocclusion, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite, Invisalign effectively corrects a wide variety of dental problems. Whether your teeth are widely spaced, overly crowded, or somewhere in between, Invisalign is a great teeth-straightening option.

A very important part in determining if Invisalign is right for you is compliance. You must be committed to wearing your Invisalign trays approximately 20-22 hours out of the day in order for treatment to be effective.

When you visit us, we’ll discuss all of the expectations with Invisalign, including how to wear Invisalign, how to clean Invisalign, and how Invisalign works.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you’re wearing. You can smile confidently during and after treatment. Invisalign invisible braces are made with 3D computer imaging technology that creates a series of custom clear aligners.

How long does Invisalign take? Invisalign treatment times differ for everyone. More severe cases may require 24 months of treatment, while minor cases may take only 6 months. We’ll determine your expected treatment length after we complete your complimentary exam.

Why choose us?

We are proud to be a Diamond Plus Invisalign® Provider. This means that we are in the top one percent of doctors treating patients with Invisalign in St. Petersburg and Seminole – and all of North America. This is based on experience and the number of Invisalign cases we have successfully treated.

In fact, Dr. Insoft and Dr. Hurst have treated more Invisalign cases in the past 15 years than any other Invisalign providers in Pinellas and Manatee Counties!

Invisalign orthodontists like Drs. Insoft and Hurst have three years of additional training after dental school in the specialty of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. While general dentists are great at restorative work, such as fillings and crowns, there is very little orthodontic training in dental school. We believe our patients deserve not only proficiency in managing tooth movement, but excellence.
